Life initiates all of us and we either surf the tidal wave as it comes, or resist and are swept away by it anyway. In those moments, there is no thinking, just being.

Those are the moments when we feel the edges of our egos – and realize where we get to expand to feel the ecstasy of being infinite. Without those moments, it’ll be like wandering around in the dark with our arms out in front of us, trying to figure out where we begin and where we end.

When we let go of our comfort and familiar edges, and surrender to our deconstruction, we experience the truth of our own being as we expand into the entire space itself, infinite and beyond words.

What determines our likelihood of facing our edges instead of turning away is a certain courage from the heart, and a willingness to experience ourselves. In the end, only you can feel your own thresholds, and it’s the only “I” that it matters to. So what does it mean to experience yourself fully? To feel yourself intimately, until the rapture beyond words?

For me, these threshold moments, such as grief, despair, and the witnessing of suffering, have taught me both the deepest pain and the most beauty. By moving through those passageways, I remember my true essence and power.

The gift is freedom and deeper love for myself, for the human spirit, and for the poetry of life.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.” – Rumi
